Laughing comes easy to 16-year-old Frankie. And, apparently, so does playing the drums. While she made some progress during a guitar lesson with Eric Lambert, lead guitarist with the Phoenix-based metalcore band Blessthefall, Frankie found her groove at the drum kit, pounding out the beat as she jammed with Lambert. “This was very new to me,” Frankie says, laughing.
Making music was new, but loving music is not. Music is one of Frankie’s greatest passions. “I can relate to what the singers are saying,” she says, adding “my favorite artist is Drake.” Frankie says she also likes playing basketball and eating chicken in all its many forms – “baked, fried, chicken burrito” Will Savoy of Christian Family Care says Frankie is a fairly typical teen and “very people oriented.”
Frankie has a younger sister and it’s important that Frankie’s forever family be willing to allow her to maintain that sibling relationship through regular contact, Savoy says. Frankie would do best as an only child so that she can get a lot of attention, he adds. Frankie asks only that her forever parents be “happy and keep me on track.” Beyond that, she says, “I just want a family. Like in (the Disney film) Lilo and Stitch, family means nobody gets left behind or forgotten.”
