What does 13-year-old Roy like to do when he has some free time? Work in an auto repair shop. Of course, it’s a virtual reality auto repair shop, one option in a job simulation game at VR Junkie in Chandler. After a quick orientation by owner Tawn Makela, Roy gets to work, virtually speaking. It’s a good time for Roy, who, like many teens, loves video games of all sorts. The outgoing teen also loves baseball, Nerf guns and old-fashioned board games. And he even loves school.
“I do like going to school,” Roy says, adding that he especially likes math class, “mostly because I’m good at math. I like everything at school.” Music is an important part of Roy’s life. “I like music a lot,” he says. “I like songs from the 80s to now.”
When it comes to favorite foods, Roy doesn’t really have one – it’s all good. “I like to eat everything but stuffing and pot pies,” he says with a laugh. Roy would thrive in a forever family with two parents, including a strong male role model. He would get along well with one sibling who is his age or older.
