Adoption
AASK's adoption program helps families bring children into their homes and hearts for a lifetime. This full-service program offers families adoption preparation & training, child/family matching services and post-placement support.
Who are the children awaiting adoption?
Most children AASK places into adoptive families are from foster care. They are great kids who have experienced not-so-great beginnings in life. Like all other kids, they have hopes, dreams and the desire to love and be loved. They need committed adults who can help them understand what family is all about. These children:
- Are survivors of abuse, neglect, drug exposure and abandonment
- Are of all ages and ethnicities
- Sometimes have physical special needs
- Often wish to be adopted along with their brothers and sisters
Each year, a few children are available for private adoption through AASK's Birth Parent Counseling Program. These children:
- Have special needs, including drug exposure, family history of mental illness, prematurity, medical challenges or lack of prenatal care
- Are typically newborns and young children
- Have been voluntarily relinquished by their parents
Who are AASK's adoptive families?
