Meet Joshua

John

"I won our match fair and square," says 12-year old Joshua beaming from his win at a home-made game of ladder golf, "We had a good game."

When asked to describe himself Joshua says, "I like lifting weights and I like working out on the treadmill. I like to play basketball and I like to play football."

Joshua likes most outdoor activities and is a committed athlete in a variety of sports. "I like to play football, basketball, soccer, dodgeball and tennis. My favorite (football) team is the Cowboys. My favorite basketball team is the Suns and Steve Nash is the best player," Joshua confirms.

As much as he enjoys sports and playing outdoors, he is also a dedicated student in school. "First we go outside and eat breakfast and then go inside to our desks. First I have writing and journal. Then we go to reading and go to lunch. Then Miss Annette's, read, go to math. Then we just have fun for the rest of the day," says Joshua with an optimistic view on his typical school day.

According to his case manager, Joshua dreams of a mom and dad who can talk with him and give him lots of encouragement when he makes good choices. He would do well with parents who can work with his teachers to help him succeed in school.

Joshua would like a family that is active in their church so he can also participate. He would do best as the youngest sibling in a new family or as an only child. He is described as having a "very caring heart and longs for a family filled with love and lots of hugs".

He looks forward to a family and a home of his own, to create some new outdoor games and perhaps play another round of ladder golf.
