The first step to become a Special Friend is to attend an orientation. Click on the following links to view our 2008 orientation schedules. There is no need to register.

Who are Special Friends?

Special Friends are volunteers who:

· Are 18 years of age or older

· Commit to spending quality time each month with a
foster child

· Commit to the program for at least six months

· Provide life skills to a child

· Join a community of caring volunteers

· Build a relationship that will last a lifetime

AASK's program is unique:

· Free, fun monthly events and activities

· An annual party, including Special Friends
and children

· Access to resources and information,
including a foster care & adoption library

· Ongoing training opportunities

· Recognition and leadership opportunities

· Opportunities to specialize your
volunteer service according to your
talents and interests
