Legacy giving is a perfect way to support AASK’s efforts to ensure every child has someone who cares. Not only do legacy gifts help AASK, they often provide financial benefits to the donor.

You can provide generous financial support to AASK (and receive significant tax benefits), by establishing a charitable gift annuity. A charitable gift annuity is a contract between you and AASK. In exchange for your irrevocable gift of cash, securities or other assets, AASK agrees to make fixed cash payments (in quarterly installments) for the life of one annuitant (usually the donor), or the lives of two annuitants (typically the donor and the donor’s partner). Payments begin immediately after the gift is made. Annuitants must be 65 years or older. Financial benefits of gift annuities may include a federal income tax charitable deduction, reduced and deferred capital gains tax on appreciated property, reduction of one’s taxable estate, and enhanced cash flow. The minimum contribution required to establish a gift annuity is $10,000.

When writing or updating your will, you can make a difference to Arizona’s foster children by naming AASK as a beneficiary. To include us in your will, please specify the following information:

You may not think of your insurance policy as a way to give to a charitable organization, but it’s an easy and quick method to give, and leave a legacy. Simply name AASK as a beneficiary on your life insurance policy. You may decide to give our organization 100% of the proceeds, or you can divide the benefits amongst other charities or people. Either way, you will be helping Arizona’s children.

Another simple estate planning technique is to designate AASK as the beneficiary of your IRA or retirement plan. Leaving your retirement assets to charity gives your estate a charitable tax deduction and allows AASK to take a tax-free withdrawal of the account balance.
